The Ballet Performing Arts Center was opened by Bridget Smith in the spring of 2001. The purpose was to provide the best dance training possible for students of all ages. Classes are offered six days a week and include Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Tap, Flamenco, Jazz, and Modern Dance. Young Children between the ages of 31/2 and 6 begin their dance training in special PRE-BALLET classes. These classes provide an introduction to dance and movement in a fun environment designed to teach basic body awareness and and coordination of movement to music. The Regular dance classes begin at age 6 or 7. Ballet class lessons include learning the basic fundamentals of classical dance. As students advance and grow, they begin to take classes more frequently. At the appropriate time, girls begin to learn the intricacies of pointe work. All ballet students over the age of 7 are eligible to audition for The Moscow Ballet's "Great Russian Nutcracker" which we host every fall. We also have a spring recital every year for all of our dance students. Students interested in Flamenco, Belly Dancing, and Modern dance classes may take classes and enjoy performance opportunities with their teacher's performance groups such as Danzas Espanoles-Nina Gomez, (Flamenco), Mackenzie Rosales Dance Company-Mackenzie Rosales (Modern Dance)
